Surrealism Surrealism was a twentieth century movement in trick (and literature) of expressing images without order or coherence, like a pipe dream. Andre Breton is considered to be the main creator of surrealism. Breton saw his movement as a rebellion against the accepted logical, social, and moral orders. Surrealist artwork went beyond compose or painting objects as they looked in reality. Their work showed objects in exotic and distorted forms, unnatural colours, as in a dream (subconscious and imaginative). He was influenced by a psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud (who is silk hat know for his theories on the subconscious mind and dreams.) Sigmund Freud was a shrink from Austria who explored subconsciousness and understand peoples dreams. His theories were about having humors, rulings or things in your mind that were unplowed surreptitious in your life. Breton created artwork related to dreaming and screening the cabalistic thoughts of the mind in art. This new phase in 20th century art was based on the image that in that location were treasures (or strange creatures) enigmatical in the our minds. In this oddball idea of reality, the problems and conflicts Breton had in his life, could find resolution. Salvador Dali thought that rectitude itself, was actually hidden and because of this, much of his art was based on this idea.
